Customer Reviews

"This location is excellent for breakfast and brunch visits (they also offer lunch, but I've never eaten lunch here). I ordered a simple stack of pancakes, and they were nice. Other members of my party ordered French toast and the HamHash, which was the special for the day. Each thought the food was excellent, especially the French toast. We did wait about 20mins for this visit on a late Sunday morning after church around 10:30. Every other time I've visited, there hasn't been a wait to sit down. Customer service was excellent, as the head cook came out and greeted customers a time or two. Overall, a great experience. I would highly recommend visiting sometime for a brunch with a few friends or family. Visited in October of 2025"

"I can not say enough good things about this wonderful restaurant. This is my favorite breakfast place in town. The service is phenomenal and the atmosphere is just right clean and well lit. Can we talk about good food ? The peach cobbler French toast is amazing. The biscuits and gravy are to die for. The ham omelette has chunks of real ham. This place is very much with your time. I have been several times for breakfast. I will definitely be back to try lunch in the future"

"We went here after the airport so our first stop in Gulf Shores. Loved it! I had the peach French toast and my husband had the blue plate special. Super kind waitress and other friendly patrons. The prices can't be beat either."

"Ugly Diner is awesome!!!! Sean that waited on us was terrific!!! We were waiting at Ducks, and they told us we had to stand outside and we couldn't wait inside. There were probably four tables and one guy moving slow to clean them. We looked for somewhere else because we didn't want to stand outside and we found the Ugly Diner. The owner is a legit actual chef!!! He is back here cooking and a chef jacket the entire time and the food is amazing. The prices are very fair and affordable. We went for breakfast and that may be the best grits I've ever had in my life. They do a lunch menu and some specialty items and we are going to have to come back for lunch. Sean shared their story and how it's a family-focused business. We are coming back on this trip for sure and will continue to support this business. This is now on our list every time we come to Gulf Shores of where we are going to eat breakfast!"

"Overall, our experience was very positive. We placed our order quickly, but unfortunately, there was a mix-up, and our food was delayed while other guests who arrived later were served first. Although this was initially frustrating, the staff responded promptly once we brought it to their attention. The food itself was excellent, and the restaurant handled the situation graciously by covering the cost of our meal. Their professionalism and commitment to customer service left a strong impression, and we truly appreciated the way they resolved the issue."

"This was our first visit. It's a little place but we got a table pretty quick despite being busy. The food was reasonably priced and you got ALOT for your money. I got the Steve's burger. So good. Also while sitting there I witnessed the staff greet a regular so kindly. One of the employees even walked an elderly regular to her car and carried her to go box for her. It was overall a great experience. Definitely will come back next time we are in the area!"

"This place is a hidden treasure. The Shrimp and Grits were some of the best tasting I've ever had. The crowd was relatively small for a weekend, which made it even better. Our waitress was friendly and the service was quick. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. This will be a regular part of my Gulf Shores visits."
